Michigan restaurant employees allege a customer confronted them for smiling and laughing while they were working, only for the woman to return later in scrubs and continue the confrontation. The bizarre encounter was documented in a series of WhoManIsThis (WhoManIsThis3) TikTok posts shared in August 2026 In the first video, text overlaid on the footage reads, “Mad cause we were smiling,” while an apparent customer can be heard shouting at employees about why they were laughing through the service window. It’s unclear exactly what made her mad. The woman repeatedly asks, “Why are you laughing?” and appears to challenge the workers over their behavior behind the counter. One employee responds during the exchange, “I can’t laugh?” before the woman continues questioning her. At another point, the employee tries to calm the woman down, telling her, “I’m proud of you, Black queen,” before the argument continues. The confrontation eventually escalates, as the employee grows incredulous about the situation. “We can’t laugh,” she says. The dispute continued in a second video. In the follow-up post, WhoManIsThis asks, “Why she come back?” The clip apparently shows the same woman at the same restaurant wearing scrubs, standing near the counter while staring at the employee. Text over the video reads, “She still mad.” The TikTok creator captioned the footage, “Why she come back? She said she gon unalive me now. She waiting on me to leave. this embarrassing at this point.” The creator later added another allegation in the comments, writing, “She told me she was gonna stalk me every day until I quit.” People think that the bulletproof glass in hood chicken joints are for robberies… in reality it’s the paying customers they really have to worry about pic.twitter.com/qPRxifLSem— SNAPtok (@EBTtok) August 10, 2026 The angry woman allegedly appeared in the comments herself and said she was a certified nursing assistant, or CNA. She continued the confrontation there. Many other commenters urged WhoManIsThis to call the police. The bizarre confrontation also comes amid broader concerns about customer behavior toward service workers. A 2025 national survey found that 55% of Americans believe customer incivility toward businesses is increasing. The survey showed half of customers who experienced a problem said they raised their voices when complaining. The survey also found that 64% of customers who experienced a problem with a business said they felt “rage.” While the findings do not specifically track fast-food restaurants, they suggest employees across the service industry are increasingly dealing with customers who respond to complaints with anger, raised voices, or confrontational behavior. The WhoManIsThis videos do not establish the restaurant or its location, or whether the upset customer made a formal complaint against the business. It’s also unclear if the employee contacted the police. The videos also do not independently verify the alleged threat or stalking claim.
