I never understand things like this. Without thinking about it too hard, I have a coworker who’s been trying to manage since her husband died of cancer at a young age, I have a relative on disability who really struggles to take care of herself and her daughter, I know someone with a chronic health issue who is accumulated crippling, medical debt, a very dear friend who’s having issues with her car that she can’t afford. There are so many people in my direct inner circle who need monetary help. Why on earth would anyone be moved to give money to a family? They don’t even know, when undoubtably all of us know people closer to home who could use a hand.
