Former Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins running back Myles Gaskin has announced his retirement from the NFL.The 29-year-old spent part of last season in Seattle, and played one game before being waived by the team that went on to win Super Bowl LX.Running back Gaskin has announced his NFL retirement at the age of 29GettyGaskin entered the NFL in 2019, as a seventh-round draft pick for the Dolphins.He played four seasons in Miami, and had his best campaign in 2021, playing in all 17 games. Before that, at O’Dea High School… and before that as a Richmond Bulldog.“Thank you to all those who showed love and support both on and off the field. To the Miami Dolphins, boy was that fun. It’s been real.”Myles Gaskin was college star who put together six-year NFL careerBefore landing in the NFL, Gaskin was a standout in college with the Washington Huskies.He became starting running back for his true freshman year in 2015, and was the first true freshman in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards.Gaskin went on to become the first Pac-12 player with four 1,000-plus rushing-yard-seasons, and he led the 2018 Huskies to conference championship and the Rose Bowl.He finished his career at Washington with a string of school records, including an impressive high of 62 touchdowns, and the most all-purpose yards, with 5,878.Gaskin was a standout college star who set school records for the HuskiesGettyIn the NFL, he carved out a six-year career, and retires with a total of 1,360 rushing yards and seven rushing scores.
