190-MLD Aluva water treatment plant gets technical sanction - The HinduPublished - August 17, 2026 10:34 pm IST - KOCHITechnical sanction has been received for the 190-million-litre-per-day (MLD) water treatment plant proposed in Aluva to address drinking water shortages in the Kochi Corporation and nearby municipalities and grama panchayats. A Kerala Water Authority (KWA) source said the agency could proceed with the tendering process.In a statement issued on Monday (August 17, 2026), T. J. Vinod, MLA, said a major hurdle in the project’s implementation had been cleared with the government granting permission.
