Global multi-asset broker STARTRADER has launched 24/7 trading for gold CFDs, allowing traders to capitalise on market volatility outside traditional market hours. Earlier this year, the company introduced 24/5 for 20 of the most traded US stocks, citing growing demand for extended trading hours in equity markets.Flexible Trading Hours for Gold CFDs The contract will be available under ticker XAUUSD247 on MetaTrader 5 accounts starting from August, 21. The functionality will be rolled out to the web-based platform and the trading app in early September. The company noted that XAUUSD247 will be available along with the standard XAUUSD contract. However, the availability will depend on account type, client classification and jurisdiction. The specific requirements for account types and geo-restrictions have not been disclosed. According to the company, the new contract will allow active traders to stay in the market and react to price-moving events outside traditional hours. "Gold is one of the most event-sensitive instruments on the market. Developments that move it do not wait for Monday. XAUUSD247 provides quoted pricing during these periods, including when the traditional market is closed," said Peter Karsten, Chief Executive Officer, at STARTRADER.Trend for 24/7 Trading Is Gaining TractionThe launch aligns with the broader market trend, reflecting brokers' efforts to extend access beyond standard market hours. Less than a month ago, Scope Prime introduced 24/7 liquidity for CFDs on Brent and WTI crude oil, in addition to its around-the-clock trading offering for precious metals. Gold contracts with non-stop trading are also available at Vantage, XM, eToro, and ThinkMarkets. Meanwhile, CMC Markets and FxPro offer weekend markets for XAU/USD. STARTRADER's move into 24/7 gold trading signals that the industry's "after-hours" race is heating up as multi-asset brokers now consider around-the-clock trading as a separate product vertical that falls within the standard expectation for retaining active traders. This article was written by Tanya Chepkova at www.financemagnates.com.
