Alan Brazil has told Marcus Rashford to focus on his football after the Manchester United star hit out at Gary Neville.Rashford, who is back in the Man United fold following successive loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona, took issue with United legend Neville trying to bring him up on The Overlap.Rashford wasn’t happy with Neville’s commentsGettyCarragher sticks up for Rashford“Marcus Rashford, what do we think? Last question,” Neville posed in a clip of an upcoming episode of the podcast, much to the annoyance of co-host Jamie Carragher.“Oh f****** hell!,” the Liverpool great reacted. “Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford? Stop it! Oh my god”.Rashford later thanked Carragher for his support, posting on X: “Thanks, Jamie.“It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day” – followed by a crying emoji.But Brazil found it odd Rashford expected to be able to stay out of the limelight given his high profile.“Marcus Rashford says he wants to play football with his name being mentioned every day,” Brazil noted on Thursday’s talkSPORT Breakfast with Gabby Agbonlahor. “Strange thing to say, isn’t it, Gab?”Agbonlahor, who made over 300 Premier League appearances for Aston Villa, urged Rashford: “Just ignore it”.Encouraging Rashford to work on getting back to his best, Ipswich Town icon Brazil – who later played for Man United himself – said: “You enjoyed last year, Marcus, at the brilliant Barcelona. You’re now back at United. Listen, one stage you were brilliant there. Just concentrate and get back to that. I don’t care what people say.”Sharing his co-host’s view, Agbonlahor continued: “You’ve got to switch off from what anyone says about you in the media as a player, Alan.Rashford ‘has to focus constantly’“You’ve got to ignore it and just go and play your football.
