China is building the future. “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” That Economist cover is looking increasingly interesting. 😉 While Washington spends its time arguing about Bitcoin, Crypto, Wars tariffs and political drama, the US national debt has now officially crossed $40 TRILLION. Interest on the debt has also become one of the biggest items in the federal budget. And then there's the AI boom. The technology is real, but the amount of capital being thrown at it is becoming extraordinary. We're seeing enormous amounts of money being committed to AI infrastructure while investors still have to prove that all that spending will translate into sustainable returns. Meanwhile, look at what China is actually building: 🤖 Humanoid robots 🧠 AI & physical AI 💻 Advanced semiconductors ⚙️ Industrial automation 🔋 EVs & batteries ☀️ Solar & wind 🔌 Massive electrical infrastructure And this isn't just a talking point. China added roughly 311 GW of solar and 119 GW of wind capacity in 2025. By early 2026 it had more than 1.2 TW of solar capacity and around 650 GW of wind. Meanwhile, the US is increasingly doubling down on oil, gas and other conventional energy, with the Trump administration explicitly prioritizing domestic fossil-fuel development and rolling back policies supporting renewables. And here's the part I find fascinating: While one side is investing in the energy, machines, chips and infrastructure of the next industrial era, Washington is busy arguing about crypto memes. 😂 China isn't perfect. Neither is the US. But capital eventually follows productivity, technology and productive capacity. Robots. Chips. Energy. Manufacturing. AI infrastructure. That's the stuff that actually builds an economy. Meanwhile, we're still being told that the next Bitcoin pump is somehow a technological revolution. Maybe the biggest trade of the decade isn't where everyone is looking.
