Disney’s Animal Kingdom is heading toward one of the biggest transformations in the park’s history, and Disney just pulled back the curtain on what guests will actually experience when its newest land arrives.Tropical Americas isn’t a secret. Disney first announced the project at D23 in 2024, confirming that the former DinoLand U.S.A. area would eventually become an entirely new land inspired by the tropical regions of the Americas.We’ve also known for quite some time that Encanto and Indiana Jones would play major roles in the expansion.But Disney just made things much more official.Credit: Disney D23During its massive “Horizons: A Carousel of Progress” presentation at D23, Disney revealed the official names and major new details for three attractions being built inside Tropical Americas.That includes an Encanto attraction, an Indiana Jones adventure, and an elaborate carousel designed specifically for Animal Kingdom.And with the latest announcements, we finally have a much clearer picture of what this new section of the park will look like.Disney Confirms Three Attractions for Tropical AmericasDisney has confirmed that Tropical Americas will feature three attractions: Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos.Disney describes the Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions as the land’s two headlining experiences.While Disney had previously announced all three attraction concepts, the latest reveals give them official identities and considerably more detailed stories.And Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto may be one of the most ambitious family attractions Disney has brought to Animal Kingdom.Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto Takes Guests Inside CasitaThe previously announced Encanto attraction officially has a name: Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto.The attraction will center around Antonio Madrigal and his ability to communicate with animals. Guests will visit Casita during the celebration of Antonio receiving his special gift, with Disney describing the larger message of the attraction as recognizing that everyone belongs to the same family of living things.Several familiar voices will also return.Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow, and Diane Guerrero will reprise their roles as Mirabel, Luisa, and Isabela, respectively. Disney even shared behind-the-scenes footage of the actors recording dialogue for the attraction.Perhaps one of the biggest pieces of news for families is that Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto will have no height requirement. That immediately positions it as an attraction the entire family can experience together.But the ride itself sounds much more elaborate than a simple trip through familiar scenes.Credit: DisneyDisney Is Expanding the World of EncantoRather than simply recreating moments guests already know, Imagineers are expanding Casita and showing portions of the Madrigal home that weren’t seen before.Guests will enter the house before boarding unusual ride vehicles created by Casita itself. Disney says the vehicles will look like different pieces of furniture assembled together through Casita’s magic.Those vehicles won’t simply carry riders from one scene to another, either. They will behave almost like characters, reacting dynamically to what happens around them.Eventually, the journey will take guests upstairs and into Antonio’s room.That’s where the Animal Kingdom connection becomes particularly important.Antonio’s room has transformed into a massive rainforest filled with wildlife. Disney says more than 50 animals will be represented throughout the attraction, including a capybara getting a haircut, a toucan, and a donkey.Imagineers also worked with Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team to ensure the animals represented in the attraction are accurate to Colombia.That isn’t the only major attraction getting a much more detailed story.Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent Is ComingDisney has officially named Animal Kingdom’s new Indiana Jones attraction Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.The attraction is taking over the former home of DINOSAUR, but Disney isn’t simply dropping Indiana Jones into the existing attraction.Instead, Imagineers have created an entirely different adventure.The story takes place during the 1950s, before the events of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).Indy discovers a passage inside an ancient temple that leads toward the Mayan underworld. According to the legend surrounding the temple, a giant mythological creature protects it.Naturally, Indiana Jones isn’t going to leave that mystery alone.Credit: DisneyGuests follow Indy deeper into the temple before discovering that the legend isn’t just a legend after all.From there, things apparently get wild.Riders will be pulled through a portal into the underworld, triggering a race to escape before time runs out. Disney’s new adventure will include bats, scorpions, fire and, because this is Indiana Jones, plenty of snakes.The attraction will ultimately build toward a major confrontation with the creature protecting the temple.There is another interesting detail coming with the ride as well.The Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronic will be modeled after Harrison Ford, marking the first time an Indy animatronic has been designed in his likeness.While Indiana Jones and Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto will serve as the two major attractions, Disney isn’t stopping there.Animal Kingdom Is Getting El Carrusel de los AnimalitosThe third attraction now has an official name as well.Disney revealed that Tropical Americas’ animal-themed carousel will be called El Carrusel de los Animalitos.And this isn’t expected to be a standard carousel with rows of traditional horses.Disney says the attraction will feature 22 hand-carved animal figures inspired by Disney and Pixar stories. Some of those figures were displayed inside the Walt Disney Imagineering pavilion during D23.Disney describes El Carrusel de los Animalitos as an Animal Kingdom-inspired interpretation of the classic Disney carousel experience.Its placement also gives Tropical Americas another attraction without a major thrill component, helping balance the more adventurous Indiana Jones experience.The carousel in Tropical Americas gets an official name – and check out all those characters. pic.twitter.com/sUPSibqiIU— Scott Gustin @ D23 (@ScottGustin) August 16, 2026Taken together, the three rides paint a much clearer picture of what Disney wants this land to become.Tropical Americas Is Taking Shape at Animal KingdomTropical Americas will celebrate what Disney calls the “myths and magic of the rainforest,” bringing together attractions built around wildlife, fantasy and adventure.The land won’t be limited to rides, either.Disney says guests will be able to dine inside a large hacienda that will become one of the biggest quick-service restaurants anywhere at Walt Disney World. Shopping locations are also planned.Younger guests will have another area to explore through a Maya-inspired play space where they can uncover artifacts through hands-on activities.For Animal Kingdom, however, the three confirmed attractions remain the biggest part of the project.Disney had already told us Encanto, Indiana Jones, and an animal carousel were on the way. What changed at D23 is just how much more concrete those plans have become.We now have official attraction names. We have detailed stories. We know Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto will have no height requirement and feature more than 50 animals. We know Indiana Jones will venture into the Mayan underworld while facing a mythical creature.
