West Brom are in talks with Manchester United over signing midfielder Toby Collyer, talkSPORT understands.Negotiations between the two clubs are centring around a permanent move following his loan last season.Collyer is set for a second spell at West Brom on a permanent dealGettyCollyer played just 12 times during his temporary stint with the Baggies last term, starting on three occasions. He was sidelined by a calf injury in November and then recalled by Man United on New Year’s Day.Just a few weeks later though, he signed for Hull City on loan and spent the second half of the season with the Tigers. The 22-year-old would only play five times for the eventual Play-Off winners, making just one start in the Championship.Collyer returned to Old Trafford again this summer and appeared as part of Michael Carrick‘s squad during pre-season, but now he looks set for a permanent exit and second spell at West Brom.He has made 13 first-team appearances in total for the Red Devils across his four years at the club. His most recent match for United was in March 2025, appearing as a second-half substitute away at Leicester City.Collyer has four Europa League appearances to his name, starting against Rangers in the competition in January.Immediate replacementWest Brom appear to have worked quickly to identify a replacement for Alex Mowatt, who left to join Derby County last week.
