Govinda Rao, chairman, AVNG Developers LLP; and Souvagya Mohapatra, managing director, Atmosphere Core, at the signing of the Hotel Management Agreement for the proposed Atmosphere Hillora Eco Resort Visakhapatnam in Visakhapatnam on Friday. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENTAVNG Developers LLP on Friday signed a Hotel Management Agreement with hospitality company Atmosphere Core to build and operate a five-star luxury eco-resort, Atmosphere Hillora Eco Resort Visakhapatnam, in the Eastern Ghats overlooking the city.Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and NRI Empowerment, Kondapalli Srinivas, described the ₹180-crore investment by a home-grown developer as “definitely a proud moment for us”.He said bringing a brand such as Atmosphere to Visakhapatnam was “not an easy thing” and credited the State’s tourism policy with attracting the investment. He added that the resort would become a venue for high-end weddings and corporate events.Gajuwaka MLA and Telugu Desam Party State president Palla Srinivasa Rao said the hospitality sector “is one of the industries that can generate the maximum number of jobs”, expressing confidence that the resort “can become the number one resort in the entire Visakhapatnam region”.Visakhapatnam South MLA Vamsi Krishna Srinivas thanked the developers for “developing the entire area and providing employment to hundreds of people in this region” and said increased investor interest reflected the present government’s focus on work. S. Kota MLA Lalita Kumari was also present.The resort, part of the Atmosphere sub-brand of Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, will come up amid nature and lakes near S. Kota, around an hour from the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport. It will open in two stages, with 100 keys in the first phase in the first quarter of 2029, followed by 80 keys in the second stage.A.V.N Govinda Rao, chairman, AVNG Developers LLP, said the partnership would help “strengthen Southern India’s premium tourism landscape”.
