Unai Emery has said he is grateful to Morgan Rogers, Lucas Digne, Youri Tielemans and Ezri Konsa after the group all left Aston Villa this summer.Aston Villa have had a summer of change with several key figures moving on. Rogers was sold to Chelsea in a £117m club record sale, while Tielemans and Digne have joined Manchester United and PSG respectively. Konsa is set to be next out the exit door and is finalising a move to Arsenal, with Emery confirming that move is imminent. Emery has seen the core of his Europa League winning side sold, but said he only wishes the best for his former players.“I am delighted with everything we did together, some players are leaving, Konsa is close to leaving, and I am happy for him and the other players,” he said ahead of Aston Villa’s opener against Brighton.“When we arrived here they were performing up and down, not a lot in the high level, and they deserve it because they are players who had a huge commitment.“They were always being so responsible and respectful. Lucas Digne, Ezri Konsa, Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers, am so grateful and I learned a lot with those players, how we were setting our standards, how they pushed other team-mates and when we are being successful the consequences can happen.“They’re leaving because they think they must get another chance in their career.“Now we have new players and we are going to try and do the same way with them like we did with other players. Now it’s Joao Gomes, now it’s [Johan] Manzambi, now it’s [Matteo] Ruggeri.“We are going to replace, of course this is the idea we want a centre-back for [Ezri] Konsa but [Modou Keba] Cisse is a young player who is a potential player. And this is the way we are trying to work again. Of course, we must build a team again.”Read more – Carrick confirms Man Utd star will return ‘very, very soon’See also – Alonso addresses Enzo Fernandez’ Chelsea future amid Man City linksFollow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Emery wishes Aston Villa sales the best and confirms Konsa’s Arsenal move close appeared first on The Football Faithful.
