Africa's Great Green Wall is an 8,000-kilometre restoration initiative stretching from Senegal to Djibouti, aimed at reversing decades of desertification across the Sahel. Launched by the African Union in 2007, the project targets restoration of 100 million hectares of land, creation of 10 million jobs and improved food security for millions by 2030.
