Following his heroics against Congo, captain Kane said: “It feels amazing to be honest. What a crazy game. “First and foremost we’re playing against a tough and organised team. After that first hydration break, we upped the level. “The keeper made some unbelievable saves. But keep going and the moments would come. Whoever it is, we have hero moments. “You have to stay patient in these games. The last couple of games were very similar. The pressure is higher. But it it’s about being ourselves.“From an attacking point of view, it’s the best performance so far. We are in the part of the tournament where we have to grind wins out.“I just told the boys to enjoy it. Sometimes as an England player, you don’t celebrate how you should. The same as every other nation, we’re through – enjoy it.“Over the 90 minutes, we’re tough to handle.”England midfielder Elliot Anderson added: “It was really good, really good fun. It was stressful. We stuck together. I thought we played well. “The result at half time wasn’t where we wanted but I thought we were doing well but we struggled to just get that goal. We fully believed in each other and stayed positive.”On facing Mexico, he said: “It will probably be one of the best game in your career, Mexico in Mexico City. It will be good. “It will be a huge test for us and we will get to work and hopefully come through it.”World Cup WhatsAppDon't miss an update from talkSPORT in our dedicated World Cup WhatsApp channel.Search for ‘talkSPORT World Cup’ in your ‘Updates’ tab on WhatsApp and we’ll drop the proper, unfiltered football chat straight to your lock screen—no fluff, just pure talkSPORT energy. It’s where you’ll find out all the new rules to watch out for, England and Scotland reaction and big match player ratings.
