Hyderabad police warn against unrecognised colleges claiming OU affiliation - The HinduPublished - July 05, 2026 06:20 pm ISTHYDERABADThe Hyderabad police have warned students and parents against enrolling in degree colleges that falsely claim affiliation with Osmania University, stating that legal action has been initiated against institutions allegedly conducting unauthorised admissions through misleading advertisements.According to the police, senior officials from Osmania University informed them that several Degree colleges within the Hyderabad Commissionerate limits were widely advertising themselves as being affiliated with the university. An inquiry, however, found that these institutions had not received recognition or permission from the university and were using false claims to attract admissions.Police cautioned students and parents not to risk losing an academic year or their money by relying on misleading advertisements.
