To be honest... if the "wealthy neighbor" is flying on a chartered jet, it really doesn't cost all that much more to take two extra people and their dog. The fuel difference is negligible. It takes about 40 extra pounds of jet fuel to fly 1 extra person 1000 miles on a Cessna Citation Jet (and that includes the weight of their luggage). And jet fuel is only about $1.50 per pound. So, two extra people, for a 1,500 mile flight on a Citation M2 would only cost about an extra $180, if that was the distance to Aspen. I'm not saying this still doesn't take some balls to ask, but I felt that everyone should understand the actual cost of what is being asked.
