A woman has been handed a one-year prison sentence, suspended for four years, and fined €1,000 after admitting to threatening Madam Justice Consuelo Scerri Herrera and harassing her in the course of her duties.According to Times Of Malta, Amanda Dimech, 37, from Għaxaq, also admitted to harassing and insulting legal procurator Kimberley Bickle as well as misusing electronic equipment. In addition to the suspended sentence and fine, the court issued a three-year restraining order, preventing Dimech from approaching the judge or her family. A separate restraining order was also issued in favour of Bickle. The case stemmed from a series of Facebook posts and messages in which Dimech insulted and threatened the judge over proceedings before the Court of Voluntary Jurisdiction.During earlier court proceedings, Scerri Herrera said she had filed the police report not for herself, but to protect the judiciary from online abuse, warning that judges should not become targets simply because people disagree with their decisions.•
