The first major global engagement in 2026 came in February, when India joined the Pax Silica initiative, a multilateral framework focussed on AI and semiconductor cooperation. As part of the initiative, India also signed the India–US AI Opportunity Partnership. The declaration outlines cooperation on trusted AI ecosystems, resilient semiconductor supply chains, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies, while promoting collaboration on AI development and innovation among participating countries.
