A former Democrat activist and Elizabeth Warren Presidential campaign volunteer attended the funeral of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and participated in propaganda interviews, wearing a hijab and traditional Muslim garb. Calla Walsh, in a documentary-style interview with Iranian state media, described herself as “a journalist, originally from the United States.” She told the propaganda outlet, “The US and Israel were mistaken in thinking that by assassinating the leader that they could overthrow the Islamic Republic. In fact, this aggressive move, this audacious move, has actually only had the opposite effect, and that the people are more determined than ever in favor of the revolution, in defending the Islamic Republic, in defending Iran’s sovereignty, and there is still continuity in the leadership of the revolution.“he was a leader to all people of the world who struggle against imperialism, against arrogance, against Zionism, against genocide,” she said. “To me, he was the greatest anti-imperialist leader to have lived during my lifetime.”As The Gateway Pundit reported, Iran began a weeklong funeral last weekend for Khamenei, months after an airstrike killed him at the start of the U.S.-Israeli war against the country.Walsh, a 22-year-old social justice warrior-turned defector, started out as a youth leader in Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey’s 2020 reelection, volunteering with Senator Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 Presidential campaign, and championing progressive causes. Now, the former rising star in the Democratic Party is on a US government watchlist “for her expansive dealings with the governments of Cuba and Iran,” the Free Press reports.Per the New York Post:Walsh, 22, who has been previously arrested for antisemitic vandalism in the US, spoke with Iran’s PressTV to talk about her attendance at Khamenei’s funeral over the weekend, where she hailed him as a heroic figure standing up to America and Israel.Walsh, a former co-chair of the National Network on Cuba (NNC) and supporter of the CodePink nonprofits, has repeatedly bashed America’s military actions across the globe.Walsh has long been an incendiary critic of Israel and was arrested in 2023 for vandalizing an Israeli company’s New Hampshire office in protest of the war in Gaza. She also previously promoted on social media the Mapping Project, which listed the names and addresses of nearly 500 institutions in Massachusetts, many of them linked to the Jewish community or Israel; and has shared online that “there is no ‘peaceful solution’ under military occupation” for Palestinians.During her third visit to Iran, Walsh, who now lives in Lebanon, provided news updates for the left-wing activism network, Vocal Politics, and Iranian state media. On day one of the funeral, reporting for Vocal Politics, Walsh described Khamenei as a “martyred” leader and his family members as “martyred with him.” Khamenei, she said, “was more than just à state head; he was the father of a nation, he was the leader of the Islamic Revolution.”She further decried the US and Israel’s attempts to decapitate the terror state, cheering, “today we see the Iranian people are more emboldened and more resistant to US imperialism, to Israeli aggression than ever.”!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src="https://rumble.com/embedJS/u2vbt6g"+(arguments[1].video?'.'+arguments[1].video:'')+"/?url="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&args="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, "script", "Rumble");Rumble("play", {"video":"v7a4c42","div":"rumble_v7a4c42"});For the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, Walsh reported on day two of the funeral, lauding the dead leader as an “admirer of poetry and literature” and a “prolific poet.” The poetry readings being performed at the funeral, she said, would “break a Guinness world record of continuous poetry recitation in honor of his life and resistance.”WATCH:!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src="https://rumble.com/embedJS/u2vbt6g"+(arguments[1].video?'.'+arguments[1].video:'')+"/?url="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&args="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, "script", "Rumble");Rumble("play", {"video":"v7a4c42","div":"rumble_v7a4c42"});In a subsequent interview with Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting-owned Press TV, she spouted similar talking points, which were likely handed to her by Iranian officials.Almost hailing him as a Christ-like prophet, she praised his legacy, saying he “left us with so many of his speeches, his writings, his books that we can study and learn from.” She further questioned how the Islamic Revolution could be duplicated in America in an apparent call to overthrow the government.WATCH:Walsh: Salaam, my name is Kala Walsh. I’m a journalist, originally from the United States, but I live and work in Lebanon, and this is my third visit to Iran. The US and Israel were mistaken in thinking that by assassinating the leader that they could overthrow the Islamic Republic. In fact, this aggressive move, this audacious move, has actually only had the opposite effect, and that the people are more determined than ever in favor of the revolution, in defending the Islamic Republic, in defending Iran’s sovereignty, and there is still continuity in the leadership of the revolution. Now, I think it’s fair to say that, despite us not trusting the US and Israel to fulfill their agreements, we know this war is probably not over, but it’s still fair to say that the US has been more humiliated than it has ever been before in its history, and it has signed away huge concessions to Iran. It seems like this funeral will be one of the biggest funerals in all of world history, because Sayyid Khamenei was the leader of the Iranian people. He was also a religious leader for tens of millions of Shia Muslims across the world, and even beyond that, he was a leader to all people of the world who struggle against imperialism, against arrogance, against Zionism, against genocide. To me, he was the greatest anti-imperialist leader to have lived during my lifetime. My observations throughout my visits on Iran, we see this progression of these different stages of US-Israeli aggression against Iran. Of course, since 1979, since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the US and Israel have been at war against Iran through different means. This is the first state funeral, the funeral of a great leader that I have attended, but truly their legacy is still alive and is being carried on by every Iranian and every anti-imperialist, every anti-Zionist who is struggling against the system of arrogance and domination today. I think Sayyid Khamenei left us with so many of his speeches, his writings, his books that we can study and learn from. Of course, he never claimed to have the answer to every question. He had an incredibly humble disposition that I think is rare in many world leaders today, and really should be learned from, but he still gave us so many answers and so many frameworks of kindness, of humility, of grace, of faith, of steadfastness, of resistance, even if you were the last person left resisting, that it is still the correct and righteous thing to do to continue resisting. And for me, as a young person coming from the West, I think one of Sayyid Khamenei’s contributions and writings that I was most interested in and drawn to was his messages to the Western youth, and so, I guess I would ask Sayyid Khamenei, how can we transmit the lessons of the Iranian Revolution, the Islamic Revolution? How can we transmit those lessons to people in the West, especially the United States? No matter how much Iran is opposed to the government of the US, the US Empire, it has always stood in solidarity with the US people.!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src="https://rumble.com/embedJS/u2vbt6g"+(arguments[1].video?'.'+arguments[1].video:'')+"/?url="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&args="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, "script", "Rumble");Rumble("play", {"video":"v7a4b8w","div":"rumble_v7a4b8w"});The post WATCH: Former Elizabeth Warren Volunteer Attends Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral, Says He Was the “Greatest Anti-Imperialist Leader During My Lifetime” in Iranian State Media Interview appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
