At the beginning of every month, Samsung releases a new security patch for its smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. The company usually rolls it out first to its phones and tablets, followed by its wearables. This month, however, things are unfolding a little differently.It has been just five days since the start of the month, and Samsung has yet to reveal details about the July 2026 security patch. Even so, the company has already started rolling it out to the Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 7, making them the first Samsung devices to receive it.As usual, the update is rolling out first in Samsung's home market, South Korea, with the Bluetooth-only variants of the two smartwatches getting it ahead of the LTE models. The Galaxy Watch 8's update is 170.04MB in size and carries firmware version L330XXS2AZF4, while the Galaxy Watch 7's update weighs 165.28MB and carries firmware version L310XXS2BZF4 (via Galaxy Alerts).Since Samsung has not yet published the details of the July 2026 security patch, there's no official information on the vulnerabilities it addresses. Typically, the company's monthly security updates fix more than a dozen security issues. To install the latest update, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone and go to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
