There's no one right way to raise a child, but different patterns of parenting are associated with how kids behave. A new study, published in the PLOS One, identified data-driven profiles of parenting practices and investigated how they relate to children's behavioral and emotional problems. These are generally grouped into internalizing behaviors (e.g., withdrawal, anxiety, depression) and externalizing behaviors (e.g., aggression, oppositional behavior, attention problems).
