A while ago I tried to cut sugar and kept failing for a dumb reason: I didn't know where it was. My "healthy" granola had cane sugar, fruit juice concentrate and glucose syrup in it. Turns out sugar goes by 60-something names on labels. So I built SweetZero. It does a few things: you point your camera at an ingredients list and it flags every hidden sugar it counts your sugar-free days (there's a little wall of squares that fills up, it's weirdly motivating) when a craving hits there's a 3 minute guided breathing thing. Sounds silly, works more often than I expected you grow a tiny floating island the longer your streak goes. Day 365 is a full kingdom. Yes it's gamification, no I'm not sorry It's at about 1.39k users right now, mostly from word of mouth. I built this because I stopped playing actively soccer and I gained a lot of weight eating sweet stuff. Free on iOS: https://www.sweetzero.app/ Honest feedback welcome, especially: does the video make you understand what the app does in the first 10 seconds? And would the scanner be the thing that gets you to try it, or something else? submitted by /u/Jealous-Asparagus518 [link] [comments]
