Tottenham Hotspur’s efforts to expand their footprint in the local community have suffered multiple setbacks of late.Tottenham’s Enfield base is considered to be one of the best facilities in the world, with the training ground often used by England and other national teams when they play in London.Since it was first built back in 2012, the club have made continuous improvements to Hotspur Way. A year later, they approached Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA) over Myddelton House, a Grade 2-listed Regency villa.Myddelton House, designed by renowned horticulturalist Edward Augustus Bowles, remains one of Enfield’s top visitor attractions.However, Tottenham’s discussions regarding both properties proved unsuccessful, with the council and LVRPA making it clear that they are currently not considering selling the two buildings.Spurs involved in legal battle with Enfield CouncilIt is not clear why Tottenham want to acquire these buildings and what the club would do with them if their offers had been accepted.The club are already in a legal battle with the council over the future of Whitewebbs Park.
