This was supposed to be a five-round fight,” Cejudo said.“And apparently the Florida Commission ended up changing it at the last minute.“They said, ‘We’re going to make this a four-round fight… it either has to be four or six.'”The FAC typically sanctions bouts for an even number of rounds, with odd numbers of rounds needing approval from an executive director.If both parties failed to reach an agreement, there may have been a chance the commission left, meaning the bout couldn’t be legally sanctioned.Cejudo continued: “So then I was negotiating — I was like, ‘Bro, if we signed up for a five-round fight, and you guys are switching it from four to six, that means I gotta get paid, right?’“It took us two hours.
