Hi there, I'm very much a beginner when it comes to prop-making, and I'm currently working on a large safety pin. I bought some 1/4inch thick aluminum wire that I've shaped into the body of the pin, but I'm struggling to figure out the best way to build the top. I'm hoping to loop a belt through the prop and wear it on my hip, so I need to make sure the bond between the aluminum/cardboard or foam or what-have-you is strong enough to handle that. Right now I'm planning to use some cardboard to build the top and reinforce it with some masking tape before finding a strong enough adhesive to connect the two, but I'm doubtful it'll hold up since the aluminum wire is heavy.
