Building Converlay for Shopify: how should a tracking score handle data you cannot collect?

Wait 5 sec.

I’m building Converlay, a Shopify app for consent-aware server-side conversion tracking and data health monitoring. One product decision I’ve been working on: how to make a tracking score useful when some customer identifiers are unavailable by design. Converlay’s signal completeness calculation now includes only purchases where consent allows an identifier. A shopper declining cookies should not count against a metric intended to measure the completeness of permitted signals. The distinction matters when someone is using the dashboard to decide whether their setup needs attention. Missing data can mean a collection problem, but it can also mean the system is respecting the shopper’s choice. If you build dashboards or run a Shopify store, how would you want that distinction presented: separate consent and completeness metrics, a breakdown beside the score, or something else?
