I built a scheduling/invoicing tool for independent music teachers. 375 visits in 30 days without posting anywhere. Sharing what I learned.

I've been building a lesson management tool for independent music teachers - the ones running everything through Google Calendar, a spreadsheet, and a group text with parents. No ads. No posts. Just word of mouth and a couple forum comments. 375 visits in the last 30 days. That surprised me more than it should have - I thought I was solving a niche problem, but apparently a lot of teachers are stuck in the same mess. The core idea: parents get a magic link (no account, no password) to a portal where they can see lessons, pay invoices, and request makeup credits themselves. Teacher side handles recurring schedules, automated reminders, and invoicing so you're not manually rebuilding your calendar every semester. It's early - 22 data models deep at this point, still just me building it based on what teachers tell me they're missing. Haven't done any real launch yet. If you teach lessons independently: what's the actual worst part of your week right now? Scheduling, chasing payments, texting about makeups? Trying to make sure I'm building for the real pain, not what I assume it is. submitted by /u/Separate_Chicken_419 [link] [comments]
