Wrapped up a pretty satisfying cedar shake project in Ladue, MO. This roof was about 15 years old and had accumulated a good amount of organic growth and weathering over the years. We cleaned the entire cedar roof on the main house along with the cedar roof on the pool house. Definitely not a roof we wanted to hammer with pressure. We used a low-pressure, two-step process—first treating and cleaning the organic growth, then following up with a neutralizing/brightening treatment to help balance the wood and bring back more of the cedar's natural appearance. We also soft washed the pool deck and surrounding stone patios while we were there, so the whole outdoor area got cleaned up. The transformation on the cedar was probably my favorite part. It's always cool watching that dark, weathered-looking wood start showing its natural color again without relying on aggressive pressure. Pretty happy with how this one turned out.
