I’m looking for some outside perspectives on a situation that happened at my Chipotle as of recently. I’m a manager/Service Leader at my store. Today, I ended up being the only manager/leader/employee at the store for that night after 8:30PM, and at one point I was essentially left running the store by myself. I was already dealing with ongoing staffing/coverage issues, and I had previously told my boss that I was getting burned out and was considering putting in my two weeks. I ended up having to make the decision to continue operating because there was nobody else there to take over. My boss later told me that I should have gotten approval before “deactivating” our ATO and that doing so without letting them know could result in termination. My Field leader also told me not to reach out on Sundays as those are his “only day off”. The problem is that I wasn’t trying to abandon the store. I was by myself and wasn’t supposed to be operating the store alone in the first place. I also tried explaining that I didn’t feel I had another reasonable option at the time. There have been numerous times where I’ve had to keep both our front line and ATO open with just one other person after 9pm and my store closes at 11pm. Idk if I should reach out to SSR about this, but any info would help. My store also doesn’t have a GM and besides the AP and I we were running the store.
