Hey, I'm a freelance creative strategist based in the US, looking to break into DTC beauty, skincare, haircare, and personal care. I'm gonna honest, I don't have a portfolio full of client campaigns or a bunch of ROAS yet. Buut, what I do have is an interest in figuring out why people buy things. Over the past several months, I've been deep in DTC creative, breaking down ads, digging through customer reviews, researching competitors, studying hooks and angles, and reading the classic direct-response copywriting books: Ogilvy, Sugarman, Halbert, and Eugene Schwartz. I like understanding why someone stops scrolling, what problem they're actually responding to, what creates desire, and what makes them believe the product might solve it. My process usually looks something like: Research > customer tension/ICP > angles > hooks > concept > script > brief And I really don't want to just make another video that says: “Here's this product why you should buy it.” I want to figure out what would actually make someone stop scrolling. For example, In one of my speculative ad concepts, I looked at a pre-wash hair oil and instead of starting with the basic “this oil reduces frizz” angle, I came up with the contrarian (but also true) statement: “Your hair oil might be making your hair drier.” That's the kind of thinking I want to get better at doing professionally. What I'll bring to your brand: Research-first creative strategy Customer review, Reddit, and 2-4 competitor research Detailed ICPs Hooks and creative angles Ad concepts + scripts Shot lists, UGC + editor briefs Genuine interest in all things beauty + personal care I'm still early though, so I haven't managed millions in Meta spend or have a collection of winning campaigns yet.
