I’ve built Decidr, an iPhone social app for side-by-side posts. Someone puts up two photos or short clips—an outfit, a before/after, a sports moment, a visual joke—and you use a swipe feed to swipe the image you resonate with - also has your typical emoji's, comments. Has global and private options, and timed posts. The latest version is live. What we need now is a first audience where the people posting can bring others into the conversation. Some of our TikTok posts get plenty of likes, but we haven’t seen that turn into downloads. People may enjoy the topic right where they saw it; that alone isn’t a reason to join another app. I’m weighing one campus, working with student organizations, club teams, and local creators who already know their audience, against a creator niche such as style or fitness, where side-by-side images are already common. App store marketing hasn’t given us a clear acquisition path so far. If you’ve grown a social or community product, where did you find your first creators who brought real people with them? What made those people install and participate? I’d especially value examples of tactics that got attention but failed to bring users.
