Hello, I’ve been working on a simple way to use an old iMac as a monitor for a newer Mac. The focus has been sharpness using two layers, compressed video and lossless tiles, with as little setup as possible. All you need is the app installed on both machines and an Ethernet connection. You can mirror or extend your desktop. If your Mac doesn’t have Ethernet, a normal adapter works. I’ve been testing it with a 27-inch 2013 iMac and a MacBook Pro M1 and I haven't looked back.
