Built a group chat where you and your AI agents work together, now open source

Wait 5 sec.

We'd been using AI agents at work to help look into bugs, but each person was in their own chat with them. Someone would figure something out, paste a summary into Slack, and the next person would start over. It got pretty silly. So we put the agents in a shared chat with the team instead. Anyone can ask one to look into something, everyone can see what it finds, and someone who knows the code can jump in or approve a change before it happens. A few of us started using it at home too, hooked up to Home Assistant and running on local models. That's what pushed us to clean it up and open-source it. You can use local models through Ollama or your own API keys, tools connect over MCP, and agents can also run on a schedule or when a webhook fires. It runs on Docker and Postgres. It's still rough in places. We're working on it in the open and fixing things as we go. There's also a hosted version we're letting people try if you don't want to set it up yourself, just DM me. Would love to hear what you think, especially whether sharing agents like this is useful to anyone else or just us. github.com/nitrictech/sugabots submitted by /u/ryan_nitric [link] [comments]
