I make music and stream from a small studio in Seoul. This started as a tool for the tedious Windows settings musicians keep being told to change (USB selective suspend, power plan, network power saving). It applies them in a few clicks, reads the values back from the hardware to confirm they actually took effect, and undoes any of it with one click. Settings alone never tamed how unpredictable real-time audio work is, so I spent the last three months on a big update. Version 2.0 went beyond the audio niche, and most of it is useful even if you never open a DAW. My favorite part is The Owl, a journal that stays with your PC and quietly records what happens. When something is worth telling, it says it in plain language: "Ableton closed unexpectedly", "your disk was slow to respond". Runs locally, nothing leaves your machine. There is also Focus: pick the programs that matter and they stay first while background stuff stays quiet. I keep DaVinci Resolve and Ableton on mine and never turn it off. Even after a restart, the machine comes back already set my way. Free, no account, no email. Windows 10/11. voiceandfilm.com/software/vilm-care I built this partly out of distrust for the whole "PC optimizer" category, so blunt feedback is welcome. submitted by /u/BIGHYUNWOO [link] [comments]
