Hi everyone, I'm about a year into teaching piano privately (10 students at the moment, mostly elementary age) and I love the teaching itself, but I'm finding the admin side harder than I expected. Right now I'm using a spreadsheet and my own memory, and it's starting to crack. I had a family reschedule twice last month and then pay cash for part of it, and I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to figure out what they actually owed. I also have one family with three kids on different schedules, and keeping their makeup credits straight is a whole separate headache. For those of you who've been doing this for years - how do you handle it? Do you log each lesson right after, or sit down once a week? Is there a system or app that's actually worth it at this scale, or is this just one of those things everyone figures out with a spreadsheet eventually? I've looked at My Music Staff and it seems powerful, but honestly it feels like a lot for 10 students, and I'm not sure I want another monthly subscription.
