Genuine question: why is Maya so commonly used for modeling in VFX and games when modeling doesn’t seem to be its strongest area compared to something like 3ds Max or Blender? I know Maya is huge for animation, rigging, and the overall VFX pipeline, but I’m curious how much of that is actually the reason studios use it for modeling too. For those working in the industry, what makes Maya the preferred choice for modeling despite other software having stronger modeling tools? submitted by /u/SandwichAvailable266 [link] [comments]
