The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10. km beneath the epicenter late at night on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026, at 10:23 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports.Our monitoring service identified a second report from Spain's Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN), which also listed the quake at magnitude 3.0.Weak shaking might have been felt in Garrucha (pop. 6,900), located 10 km from the epicenter.Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Mojacar (pop. 5,200), located 13 km from the epicenter; Vera (pop. 14,000), 16 km away; and Cuevas del Almanzora (pop. 13,000), 22 km away.
