She was a well-suited, very fastidious type who didn't have many belongings. She said it wasn't a big deal, since she wrote all day. Also, between jobs, she could move back in with her family. Personally, I would hate the invasion of privacy but it was a lot of money to her. Plus, she stayed in some incredible houses, some right on the beach, for months at a time or longer.
