Hi All. First time posting here. I originally just wanted to build a simple app for myself to see what planes are near me in a 3D space so I can visualize the different layers of traffic near my. But oh boy, I just kept going and having fun with this one. Now I use this with my kids every time we hear a nearby aircraft and to find out where it is in the sky and how far it travelled. I am not quite sure where I want to take this but I need to get some feedback and maybe through that it will become clear what this is or what it can become into. The app is called Here and Above I started by using mapLibre but wanted more 3d control on iOS. Then moved to MapBox which was fine for a while but eventually decided to build the whole 3D rendering engine from scratch. Of course all this is vibe coded, didn't write a single line of code but I do have web development background. Currently the only aircraft and vessel data is for NYC and Boston area. I purchased a feeder and started running it at home but still unable to get access to full adsb .lol data. There's also vessel data from open waters and there also some local metro/rail/bus data for Boston and NYC. I wanted to see and appreciate just how many things are moving around us constantly. Somehow I ended up moving out to space and added in the moon, planets and sun. There is also a fun little easter egg there if you can find it. Take a look if you have moment.
