The souvenir mug has quietly become one of the most effective things Disney sells.Not the most expensive, and not the most impressive. But think about what a mug actually does. It is a drink you were probably going to buy anyway, wrapped around an object you take home, put on a shelf, and look at for years. It turns a forty-dollar cocktail into a purchase people feel good about rather than one they wince at. And it produces a collection that evokes the specific, highly profitable feeling of having an incomplete set.The Beak and Barrel understood this from day one. When the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern opened in Adventureland on August 29, 2025, it opened with a mug. An anchor emblem sits on the chest.The nicest detail is structural. The tricorn hat appears to form the top opening of the mug, meaning you drink out of the hat. The finish is a terracotta tone with sculpted wood lines running through it.Is It RummyThe obvious question, and Disney has not answered it.Rummy, the tavern’s parrot quartermaster, appeared in Disney’s pre-opening details for The Beak and Barrel and has been part of the bar’s story since before it opened. There is already a Rummy Shoulder Plush sold at the location.A parrot mug at a bar whose resident character is a parrot is a reasonable connection to draw. Disney simply has not confirmed that the mug depicts him, so it remains an assumption rather than a fact.What It Will Probably CostDisney has not announced pricing, but the bar has established a fairly clear pattern that gives you a realistic expectation.Plunderer’s Punch, which comes with the Pirate Skull Mug, is priced at $46.The Redd mug, sold separately at the nearby Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar gift shop, runs $39.99.So a mug-inclusive cocktail at The Beak and Barrel has been priced in the mid forties, and a standalone mug from the gift shop in the high thirties. To get the mug, you bought the drink.The Redd mug went on sale at a gift shop as a standalone item at $39.99. No drink required.Disney has not said which model applies to the Pirate Parrot Mug, and the difference is significant.If it is drink-only, anyone who does not drink alcohol, is driving, is pregnant, or simply does not want a vodka punch has no path to the mug. A one per guest limit also complicates things for families where more than one person wants one.If it eventually shows up at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar the way the Redd mug did, that problem solves itself.Worth watching rather than assuming.About That VodkaOne thing stands out about Mariner’s Fortune, and it is a genuinely interesting choice.This is a Pirates of the Caribbean tavern. Pirates means rum. Plunderer’s Punch leads with The Kraken Black Spiced Rum, which is exactly what you would expect from this location.Mariner’s Fortune leads with vodka.Guava, pineapple, ginger, and lime is a tropical punch profile that would traditionally be built on rum. Swapping in vodka makes the drink lighter and lets the fruit and ginger come forward instead of sitting under a spiced rum base.It is also the more approachable option. Spiced rum is polarizing, and plenty of guests who want the mug do not particularly want a Kraken-forward cocktail. A vodka punch widens the audience for the exact same souvenir.Thematically it is a slightly odd fit for a pirate bar. Commercially it makes complete sense.Credit: DisneyWhat This Makes ThreeThe Pirate Parrot Mug is the third Beak and Barrel mug guests know about, joining the Pirate Skull Mug and the Redd mug.That is a real collection forming at a bar that has been open just over a year, which is the point. Three mugs is no longer a souvenir.
