Teen with rare blood disorder undergoes stem cell transplant with CSR support - The HinduPublished - September 30, 2026 10:41 pm IST - COIMBATOREA 12-year-old girl from Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh underwent stem cell transplantation at a hospital in Coimbatore for Fanconi anaemia, a rare inherited blood disorder leading to bone marrow failure.The girl underwent an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation at G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial (GKNM) Hospital with her three-year-old younger sister as the matched sibling donor.The girl, whose family is currently staying in Ernakulam for employment purposes, had been experiencing a progressive decline in her blood cell counts and required repeated blood transfusions.
