I built a daily football geography game. 2 days after launch, players are already sharing it organically

Wait 5 sec.

Hi everyone, I recently launched a small side project called GeoFußball, a daily football geography game. The idea is pretty simple: every day you get 5 football questions about clubs, stadiums, derbies, historic matches, World Cups and other moments in football history. But answering the question is only half of the challenge. You also have to find the location connected to the answer on a map. The closer you are, the more points you get. I also built a group feature where friends or communities can create their own team, invite others and compete on a private leaderboard. The project has only been live for a couple of days, but I’m already seeing something I was really hoping for: players are sharing their results and new users are arriving through links shared by other players. Some numbers from yesterday: • 67 unique visitors • 56 clicked Play • 48 made their first guess • 43 completed all 5 questions • 5 shared their result • 25% of the previous day's players returned • Some shared links have already reached a second generation of referrals These are obviously still tiny numbers, but seeing the first organic sharing loop actually work has been pretty exciting. I’m now experimenting with another idea as well: creating dedicated teams for existing football communities. Members can join their community’s team and compete against each other on their own leaderboard. The game is currently German only, but English and other languages are something I want to add if the concept proves itself. You can try it here: https://geofussball.de/?von=reddit-sideproject I’d really appreciate some honest feedback, especially on the onboarding, game loop and whether the group/leaderboard mechanic gives you a reason to come back. What would you improve first? submitted by /u/Responsible-Egg2476 [link] [comments]
