Last night, they were musical guests on Saturday Night Live’s season 52 premiere.With their performance in New York City just yesterday, the girls did not make it to Los Angeles for tonight’s MTV VMAs. ELLE understands the group won’t be at the ceremony. Katseye has two nominations: “Pinky Up” is up for Best K-pop and Best Choreography.Members Sophia and Manon are currently on hiatus, and their bandmates Daniela, Megan, Lara, and Yoonchae have maintained a busy schedule.Last month, the four appeared on The Tonight Show. Lara spoke about Sophia and Manon’s breaks, saying, “We have nothing but so much love and support for Sophia and Manon. And it’s beautiful to see how the Eyekons give them so much support and also continue to support us as we’re here.”View full post on YouTubeLast month, the group spoke with Dazed about this moment in their careers and how the band’s rise has coincided with their own entry into adulthood.“We’ve experienced really formative years of our lives, from our late teens to early 20s, still figuring out who we are as people,” Lara said. “Our music, our sense of styling, even the way we perform—all of it has changed a lot. With this third EP [Wild] coming out, it was like, ‘OK, if Katseye was one human being, who would she be?’ It feels a lot more convicted in who we are and what we have to say.”Megan also weighed in on the commentary the band receives. “Looking back at the ’00s and ’90s, celebrities definitely had to deal with tabloids, too, but the internet is just so accessible and in your face—especially because we’re on there, too,” she said. “We get a lot of advice on how to deal with it, and how to not let it affect you. We say it all the time, but the internet is just not real; most of the time it’s just people wanting to have something to say.”
