SITCo MES Setup Map — Tuesday, September 29Micro E-mini S&P 500 Index FuturesCME_MINI:MES1!SITCo_SITCo MES Setup Map — Tuesday, September 29 Nightly posture: Tactical risk-off / failed repair. Breadth, RSP and banks favor caution on rallies. This is a location map, not an instruction to short: price must complete an approved setup, and the desk must revalidate levels before the open. 7,729–7,739.25 SR rejection with retest short Sustained reclaim with improving breadth and banks 7,719, then 7,707.50 Break and retest short after acceptance below Rapid reclaim that holds above the broken level 7,759.25–7,769.25 SR rejection with retest short if a larger repair reaches this band Acceptance above the band with broad participation Conditional 7,719 / 7,707.50 Support rejection with retest long Acceptance below support; weak RSP and internals Later reference 7,656.50 Reassess for an SR only if the nearer supports fail No automatic long or short at first touch 1. Preferred short: failed reclaim of 7,729–7,739.25 15m context: This is the first repair area above the late decline. RSP’s rejection and weak ADD/VOLD support the bearish thesis while that repair fails. 5m setup: MES probes into the area, rejects, and moves distinctly away. A subsequent return fails to regain the tested level. 1m trigger: Reject → leave level → return → fail → enter. Choose the specific level price actually tests; the full 10-point area is a map, not one entry line. Stand aside if: The 5m reclaims and holds the area, or the 15m begins accepting above it while RSP and banks improve. 2. Continuation short: break and retest of 7,719 or 7,707.50 15m context: Watch the levels in order. Losing 7,719 makes 7,707.50 the next decision; sustained acceptance below 7,707.50 brings 7,656.50 into view. 5m setup: Price breaks a support, stays below it, then retests that specific broken level from underneath. 1m trigger: Break → separate → return → failed reclaim → enter. A fast push through support without a usable retest is a missed move, not a reason to chase. Stand aside if: The break is promptly reclaimed, or the 5m treats the move below support as a wick. Do not assume 7,656.50 is the next trade outcome merely because 7,707.50 was touched. 3. Higher resistance short: 7,759.25–7,769.25 If an opening or post-data rally reaches this band, it offers a more substantial test of the failed-repair thesis. Require the same SR rejection with retest sequence and renewed weakness in RSP, ADD/VOLD and banks. Sustained acceptance above the band weakens the short case; 7,783–7,785 is the stronger repair pivot. 4. Longs need evidence of repair A support SR long at 7,719 or 7,707.50 is a countertrend idea tonight. It needs an actual rejection, separation, return and successful defense, with internals stabilizing. A stronger long thesis develops only if MES reclaims 7,729–7,739.25 and holds a retest while RSP, banks and breadth improve. Above 7,759.25–7,769.25, assess whether the auction is accepting higher before treating 7,783–7,785 as a repair target. No-trade zone: Repeated crossings of 7,719–7,739.25 without separation, mixed internals, or a 1m signal that conflicts with a 5m reclaim. We trade failed attempts, not line crossings. Event check: JOLTS and Consumer Confidence are scheduled for 8:00 AM MT, shortly after the cash open. Revalidate the setup around those releases; yields, the dollar and volatility remain context, never standalone triggers.
