The Supreme Court stayed the death penatly of an Indian Mujahideen operative in connection with the 2008 Ahmedabad serail bomb blasts that killed 56 people. The top court called for the trial court records in the case. The High Court had earlier upheld the death sentence after highlighting the scale of the atrocity and directed the Gujarat government to pay compensation to the victims.
