The Truth About the Uptober NarrativeBitcoin / U.S. dollarBITSTAMP:BTCUSDkaproTL;DR The "Uptober" narrative is polluting socials. Don't believe the hype. The SEC has approved 23 hour a day trading for the major U.S. Stock Exchanges. This is supposed to go into effect December 6th. Once it does, I expect it to really change the landscape of the playing field. I’m wondering if it will also mitigate some of the volatility we’ve been experiencing in the traditional pre-market hours. Whatever the case, today we saw another spike in volatility in pre-market hours. The fact that today is also the last candle before the Monthly / Quarterly close may have amplified it. I expect that to continue through the day as traders try to speculate on whether BTC is more likely to breakout or breakdown in October. I've already seen the "Uptober" narrative polluting socials. Apparently some people forgot that last year October was red. In fact, throughout Bitcoin's history 5 of the past 15 October's have been red. Sure that still puts the historical probability on a relatively small sample in favor of a green October, but that's not a reason to follow a narrative blindly. Instead, let the charts, liquidity, and order flow guide those decisions. Without regurgitating the "Uptober" narrative, lmk if you think BTC is more likely to go up or down in October? Explain why.
