Afcon Ugandan football fans will be able to follow the Cranes’ journey to a historic home Africa Cup of Nations on SuperSport after CANAL+ and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) secured an agreement covering the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers and finals. The deal comes as Uganda prepares to co-host the 2027 AFCON alongside Kenya and Tanzania from June 19 to July 17 next year. Uganda is among 48 nations drawn into 12 groups of four, with teams competing over six match days for places at the 24-team finals. Matchdays 1 and 2 run through October 6, with the remaining qualifiers scheduled for November 2026 and March 2027. The significance of the tournament is particularly high for Uganda, which will welcome Africa’s leading national teams to the country for the first time as an AFCON co-host. The 2027 edition will also mark the first time three countries jointly host the continental championship. It will be the competition’s return to East Africa for the first time since Ethiopia staged the 1976 edition. David Mignot, Chief Executive of CANAL+ Africa, said the agreement would allow supporters to follow their national teams from qualification through to the finals. “We are thrilled to bring the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 Qualifiers and the tournament itself to SuperSport,” Mignot said. He said AFCON’s appeal extends beyond the matches, bringing together national pride, rivalries and supporters across the continent. The qualifying campaign also features some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Victor Osimhen (Nigeria), Franck Kessié and Serhou Guirassy. Kenya will be led by captain Michael Olunga, while South Africa’s squad includes Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, Themba Zwane, Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis. The agreement extends CANAL+’s reach in Frenchspeaking Sub-Saharan Africa, where the qualifiers will be broadcast in French across more than 20 countries. AFCON PAMOJA 2027 will also be accessible across the continent through entry-level packages, giving more fans an opportunity to follow the competition. For Uganda, the deal means supporters can watch the Cranes’ qualification campaign while building towards the bigger prize: seeing their national team compete on home soil when AFCON PAMOJA 2027 arrives next June. The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 Qualifiers are live on SuperSport across SubSaharan Africa, with the finals scheduled for June 19 to July 17, 2027.The post Supersport secures Pamoja 2027 rights appeared first on The Observer Media Ltd.
