Vedanta Copper announced plans to invest $2.3 billion over three to four years to increase its output. The company aims to produce 500,000 tonnes of copper in India and 500,000 tonnes in Saudi Arabia. Officials are in advanced discussions to potentially restart the Tuticorin smelter, which has been inactive since 2018. If approved, they will invest $250 million to refurbish and restart this facility to enhance operations.
