I come from a culture where there is bride price. I’m the bride in this scenario. My partner was always so gung-ho about getting married(going on 2 years now). Sat his hyper happy arse down and explained the whole process and how he’d be the one footing the bills for everything(except my outfit and any outfit for my ladies) and he piped the fuck down. And that’s before we get to the “white wedding”(which is what Americans think of when talking about marriage ceremonies). Realistically, I told him we can get legally married at a courthouse but his happy arse needs to set aside at least $10k to do the prescribed ceremony from my culture. Guess who the fuck doesn’t bother me monthly about “let’s start the process”? 😅
