Suspected benami assets worth over ₹3.5 crore surface in NIMS doctor’s DA case - The HinduUpdated - September 29, 2026 08:35 pm IST - HYDERABADNizams Institute of Medical Sciences Additional Medical Superintendent Nori Lakshmi BhaskerSuspected benami properties worth about ₹3.27 crore, investments of ₹20 lakh, ₹4.94 lakh in cash and hand-loan receipts for ₹3 lakh were unearthed as the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) widened its investigation into the disproportionate assets case against NIMS Additional Medical Superintendent and Additional Professor Nori Lakshmi Bhasker.The ACB conducted searches at five locations in and around Hyderabad on Tuesday, including the residences of suspected benamis who allegedly had financial and other transactions with the accused officer. The searches followed warrants issued by the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad.Among the assets detected were documents relating to three agricultural land parcels in Maheshwaram, valued at approximately ₹57 lakh, and an open plot in Venkateshwara Cooperative Housing Society at MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, valued at ₹2.70 crore.The ACB also recovered ₹4.94 lakh in cash from the residence of Dhanraj, a NIMS employee.Two investments worth ₹20 lakh were found in the name of D. Ganesh, an outsourcing employee of NIMS, while receipts pertaining to a hand loan of ₹3 lakh were also found during the searches, the agency said.The searches were conducted as a continuation of the disproportionate assets case registered against Dr. Bhasker on September 21 under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.The ACB said documents and other material forming part of the evidence relating to suspected benami assets were seized. Verification of additional assets and the money trail is continuing.
