We've been thinking about this problem a lot. AI coding agents will increasingly become a major part of the software development ecosystem. They write most of the code, modify repositories, use tools, access systems, make decisions, and potentially coordinate with other agents. The human-in-the-loop may become more important, not less. But there is a problem we don't think is being discussed enough: The people responsible for reviewing, guiding and governing AI developer agents will themselves need better AI-era tools and intelligence. That's why we're building two open projects. SafeAI — a static AI agent security and capability analyzer. The idea is: before an AI agent becomes part of a development workflow, we should be able to understand its capabilities, tools, autonomy, memory, identity and potential risks. OpenPulse — dependency intelligence for the open-source software ecosystem. Software depends on thousands of external projects. Those projects change, become deprecated, reach EOL, develop vulnerabilities, change maintainers or introduce other signals that can eventually affect our own systems. We want to help teams see those changes before they become surprises. Together, these projects are part of a bigger idea we're exploring: AI will build more of our software. Humans must become better at governing it. And we don't want to build this idea in isolation. We're looking for our first Founding Advocates We're looking for a small group of developers, security engineers, AI builders, OSS maintainers, DevOps/SRE practitioners, architects and generally curious people who want to help us challenge and shape these projects. We're not looking for people to blindly promote. Actually, we'd prefer the opposite. Tell us where we're wrong. Try the tools. Break our assumptions. Suggest capabilities we haven't considered. Tell us what would make these genuinely useful in a real engineering organization. If you eventually find something worth sharing with your community, we'd love that too. We're looking for people who want to help shape what responsible AI-driven software development should look like. If this resonates with you, comment below or send us a DM with what you're working on and which part of this problem interests you.
